About Us _

My name is Scott Krogh and I have been working with computers since about 1982 when I got my first Commodore Vic-20 computer. I taught myself how to program in Basic and fell in love with computers. Around that time, there was no Internet. Computers called and talked to each other through bulletin board systems. In 1999, I purchased my first used IBM Aptiva computer. My hard drive had gone out in the computer and I called a repair shop to see about getting my computer repaired. Needless to say, the repair was going to cost me about the same as the price of the computer. Not wanting to pay basically for another computer, I met up with a friend that showed me how to do the repairs at a fraction of the cost. I finally got my computer up and running just to get struck with a virus. Again I called a repair shop to help me and again, the price I was quoted was about as much as I paid for the computer. Frustrated, I decided to try to figure out how to do it myself. The virus at that time was a simple solution of removing the infected file. With this knowledge and the willingness to learn, I found that I could do repairs myself.

I found I could make my computer so much better by adding hard drives, memory, and other items to my computer. In seeing this, family and friends started coming to me and asking me for help. In 2003 I decided to take on a new challenge and I built my first computer. The computer turned out to be a real nice system and again in seeing this, I had requests from others to build them computers. I was told by people that I worked with that I needed to start my own business. I figured I would give it a test run and see how it would work out if I were to do a business and started handing out cards to people. Being a professional household goods mover at that time, I found that as my name got around, my free time was diminishing. I had to let people know that I would only be able to help them in my spare time. Having to let people know that I was only able to fix computers in my spare time, I came up with the name of Spare Time Computers.

In 2006, I was injured on the job as a mover. I ended up rupturing my ACL and was not able to do the moving business for quite awhile. People pushed me to just give up the moving business and focus totally on starting out on my own doing computer repair. Hearing that so much I decided to give it a try and here I am today doing this as one of my loved jobs.

In keeping in mind that the customers are what makes a business grow, I do my best to keep my prices low and strive for customer satisfaction. In order to keep my prices low, I work from my home. Doing this keeps my cost down by not having to rent a office and pay additional electricity and other services to maintain an office. I do my advertising through free sources and word of mouth to also reduce the cost that other company's charge to their customers. My savings are my customers savings. With 300+ customers to date, I have had 100% satisfaction. My satisfaction is knowing that my customers are happy when a job is complete and they are willing to pass my name on to others.
